IPA Playoffs (2022-2023) Match 3 Recap
Overview
The IPA 2022-2023 tournament resumes with the third and final IPA Playoff match on April 16th.
USC, Pomona, Georgia Tech, and Columba Law win their respective groups. The four teams will compete against each other in the IPA Finals at Susquehanna International’s Group headquarters on May 5th. Columbia Law sweeps four of their five tables and upsets their group as the bottom seed team.
9-seed USC wins Group A with a 18 point lead over 1-seed Vanderbilt. 8-seed Emory and 16-seed Indiana trails by 28 and 34 points, respectively. Vanderbilt falls short to USC on most of their tables. USC qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be USC’s first IPA Finals appearance.

2-seed Pomona wins Group B with a five point lead over 7-seed Carnegie Mellon. 15-seed Yale and 10-seed Harvey Mudd trails by 12 and 13 points, respectively. Group B concludes as arguably the most competitive playoff group. Pomona qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Pomona’s first IPA Finals appearance.

6-seed Georgia Tech wins Group C with a 13 point lead over 14-seed Harvard. 3-seed Manchester and 11-seed Chicago Booth trails by 52 and 62 points, respectively. Georgia Tech puts up another strong performance with three table victories. Georgia Tech qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Georgia Tech’s first IPA Finals appearance.

13-seed Columbia Law wins Group D with a 26 point lead over 4-seed Waterloo. 5-seed Tufts and 12-seed Oxford trails by 27 and 43 points, respectively. Columbia Law dominates the match with four table victories. Columbia Law qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Columbia Law’s second IPA Finals appearance. The team previously competed in the 2022 IPA Finals where they placed fourth.
