Overview

The IPA 2022–2023 tournament resumed with Match 2 on January 14 and 15.

Vanderbilt, Wesleyan, Pomona, UPenn, Tufts and Waterloo lead their respective groups, with Vanderbilt, Wesleyan and Waterloo showing strong performances. Both past IPA champions, Boston University and Brown, trail their groups.

Vanderbilt continues its dominance in Group A. Harvey Mudd maintains its gap over Michigan, and Michigan extends its lead over MIT. Boston picks up the pace from Match 1 but still has a way to go to catch the rest of the pack.

Wesleyan delivers another strong performance in Group B. Claremont McKenna moves up to second and Northwestern falls to third. Defending IPA champion Brown still trails the group but puts up a healthy number of points and closes to within a single point of Manchester.

Pomona leads Group C and further extends its lead over second-place Cornell. USC plays strong fundamental poker and moves up three places to third, while Oxford, NYU and Washington University each fall a spot.

UPenn leads Group D, which saw tight Match 2 scores. UPenn maintains its lead in first, while UC San Diego, Georgia Tech and Chicago Booth are all within 2 points of each other. Chicago Booth moves up to fourth and Northeastern falls to fifth. There are still many games left for the trailing teams to make their move.

Group E sees a large shake-up in placements. Tufts, Carnegie Mellon and Georgetown rise to first, second and third, respectively, with Georgetown climbing three places. Yale, Miami and Victoria all fall, with Yale dropping from first to fourth. The wildcard picture is currently close between Georgetown, Yale and Miami.

Waterloo now leads Group F and holds a healthy 25-point lead over second place. Occidental moves up to second, New South Wales falls to third, and Emory is not far behind.
