IPA (2021-2022) Match 2 Recap
Overview
The IPA 2021-2022 tournament resumed with Match 2. Cambridge opted to forfeit and will be sent directly to relegation with 0 points. Group E will now play with six teams and points will be distributed from 1-6 points. Match 1 points have also been adjusted.
UC Davis, York, and Cornell showed strong performances this match. UC Davis jumped from last to second place in Group A. York went from last to a quarter point shy of third in Group E. Cornell improved their placement from the wildcard spot to first.
Group A leads with UNSW. Spread from first to fifth is close – 5 points and a quarter. First and second have many more hands to play until their guaranteed playoff spots.
Group B is a fight between William & Mary and Columbia Law School. Both teams improved to potential playoff contenders. Michigan and Manchester not too far behind. Wildcard spot is very much still a wildcard.
Group C saw Illinois lose major ground from first place. Washington University dominates with a healthy lead over the average.
Group D realized minimal changes. Princeton and Oxford swapped their second and third place standings. Georgia Tech continues to lead in first and widens their gap from second.
Group E loses Cambridge and shows consistent results from Match 1. Spread between the top three teams is only three points.
Group F sees current IPA champion Brown taking back lost ground. They improve from fifth to third. Brown looks for their third consecutive IPA Finals.
