James Devaney
Head of Americas

James is the Head of Americas for the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He spent the summer at Susquehanna International Group as a quantitative trading intern. He is also a member of the Harvard Poker Team.

James is currently a student at Harvard College pursuing a joint degree in mathematics and philosophy.

Sachin Bhasin
Head of Partnerships

Sachin is the Head of Partnerships for the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He currently leads the Emory Poker Team.

Sachin is currently a junior at Emory University pursuing a degree in finance and philosophy. He will be interning in Lincoln International’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice the following summer.

Jonathan Tam
Head of Europe

Jonathan is the Head of Europe for the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He is also the president of the Oxford University Poker Society, and is part of the Oxford Poker Team.

Jonathan is currently in his final year of his PhD in Mathematics at Oxford, specializing in the areas of stochastic analysis and optimization.

Nathan Josephs, PhD
Head of Data & Education

Nathan is the Head of Data and Education for the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He was previously a member of the Boston University Poker Team and helped them win the inaugural IPA championship in the 2019-20 season.

Nathan is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Yale. He holds a PhD in statistics from BU and a BA/MA in mathematics from Wesleyan, where he played fullback for the men’s rugby team. He can be reached at njosephs.com.

Jack Elliot
Head of Marketing

Jack is the Head of Marketing for the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He is also a member of the Brown Poker Team.

Jack is currently a student at Brown University pursuing a degree in business economics and international and public affairs. He also manages content for the Brown Men’s Rugby Team.

Alex Woo
Advisor, Founder

Alex is an advisor and the sole founder of the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He previously led the organization from its founding until the end of the 2021 season.

Alex holds a BS in computer science and economics from the University of Michigan.

Kevin Wu
Advisor

Kevin is an advisor for the Intercollegiate Poker Association. He was the former Head of Americas and Commissioner for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Kevin holds a BS in economics and mathematics from Pomona College. He is currently a part of Guggenheim in Chicago.

Miki Herrick
Advisory Council

Miki Herrick spent over 20 years as in-house counsel on Wall Street in various roles addressing legal and regulatory matters. She is currently the Chief Compliance officer for DeFi Pulse and Scalara.  She also focuses on providing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) enrichment programs to children in New York City and serves on several boards of  non profit organizations.  Born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Tokyo, London and New York, she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Government and East Asian Studies from Lehigh University and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law.  Miki is a member of the Cayman Islands National Volleyball Team and competes in indoor and beach volleyball circuits.
