IPA Playoffs (2021-2022) Match 3 Recap


Overview

The IPA 2021-2022 tournament resumed with the IPA Playoffs on April 23th and 24th.


The IPA Playoffs conclude with Auckland, Brown, Columbia Law, and Vanderbilt each securing a spot in the IPA Finals. The four finalist teams are the point leaders from their respective playoff groups.


Group A – 5 seed Columbia Law defends their lead and claims a seat in the IPA Finals. Group A has the closest point margin between first and last. 1 seed Cornell falls short while 12 seed UNSW and 16 seed UPenn conclude the season with a tie. This will be Columbia Law’s first IPA Finals appearance. The team will be playing for their first IPA title.


Group B – 11 seed Auckland enters and leaves the final round of playoffs with a strong lead and claims a seat in the IPA Finals. Oxford shows a strong performance bringing them to second. This will be Auckland’s first IPA Finals appearance. The Kiwis will be playing for their first IPA title.


Group C – 10 seed Brown outperforms 3 seed Georgia Tech and claims a spot in the IPA Finals. Georgia Tech displays a poor performance in their final match while 14 seed McGill shines. Defending IPA champions Brown will compete in their third consecutive IPA Finals and will look for their second title.


Group D – 4 seed Vanderbilt continues to dominate their group and claims a spot in the IPA Finals. 8 seed Claremont McKenna shows a strong performance and moves to second. This will be Vanderbilt’s first IPA Finals appearance. The team will be playing for their first IPA title.
