IPA Playoffs (2024-2025) Match 3 Recap
Overview
The IPA 2024-2025 tournament resumes with the third and final IPA Playoff match on April 12th.
Georgia Tech, Oxford, Waterloo, and Carnegie Mellon win their respective groups. The four teams will compete against each other in the IPA Finals on May 25th.
5-seed Georgia Tech wins Group A with a one point lead over 12-seed Cornell. 16-seed Cambridge and 1-seed Vanderbilt trails by 12 and 16 points, respectively. Cornell leads the table in the third playoff match, but comes short over Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Georgia Tech’s second IPA Finals appearance. The team previously competed in the 2023 IPA Finals where they placed second.

6-seed Oxford wins Group B with a four point lead over 11-seed Wisconsin. 15-seed McGill and 2-seed Northwestern trails by 13 and 27 points, respectively. Oxford qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Oxford’s first IPA Finals appearance.

10-seed Waterloo wins Group C with an eight point lead over 14-seed Wake Forest. 3-seed Virginia and 7-seed North Carolina each trails by 23 points. Waterloo qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Waterloo’s first IPA Finals appearance.

9-seed Carnegie Mellon wins Group D with a three point lead over 4-seed two-time IPA Champion Brown. 13-seed Johns Hopkins and 8-seed Michigan trails by five and 10 points, respectively. Carnegie Mellon puts up a strong performance to move up two spots to first. Carnegie Mellon qualifies for the IPA Finals. This will be Carnegie Mellon’s first IPA Finals appearance.
