IPA (2024-2025) Match 4 Recap

Overview

Match 4 of the 2024-2025 season took place on March 1st in which top teams began to really stand out.


Group A sees Wisconsin hold onto their 1st place position, while a poor performance by Cornell drops them to third place, allowing McGill to take second with a strong performance. Despite having one of the best performances of the day, Tufts remains in 6th, and Bocconi and USC are narrowly tied for fourth.

Average: 28.17 points, Standard deviation: 8.61 points, Penalties: 0 points.


Group B sees Yale narrowly overtake Waterloo to secure first place, while UVA and UChicago keep their respective positions of third and fourth. Emory overtakes CalTech after only one player from CalTech played in the match, securing their team 0 points.

Average: 24.67 points, Standard deviation: 15.06 points, Penalties: 0 points.


Group C largely stayed the same except for a stellar performance by CMU that propels them into third, just shy of the top two spots still held by Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech. Harvard posts a poor score and falls to fourth. Carnegie Mellon and Imperial slip further and continue to struggle.

Average: 26.5 points, Standard deviation: 17.46 points, Penalties: 0 points.


Group D sees dramatic changes in positions after a poor performance by Cambridge and an incredible performance by Northwestern, which sees the two teams trade positions (first and third). Johns Hopkins holds onto second, and Berkeley, Occidental, and HMC continue to struggle.

Average: 22.83 points, Standard deviation: 14.14 points, Penalties: 0 points.


Group E is still led by Oxford. Booth and Washington still struggle, but there are no position changes across the group. Wake Forest, UNC, and Princeton all hold onto their positions.

Average: 27.67 points, Standard deviation: 8.06 points, Penalties: 0 points.


Group F sees Michigan remain in first. MIT, with the best performance of the day, jumps to third, with Brown holding onto second. A mediocre performance by Duke drops them to fourth. Warwick, NYU, and Penn fall out of contention.

Average: 23.57 points, Standard deviation: 17.65 points, Penalties: 0 points.
