Boston University IPA 2019 – 2020 Champion

Congratulations to the Boston University poker team for winning the inaugural IPA tournament. BU defeated Brown University in a best-of-25 heads up match with a 14 – 11 victory. The lineup featuring Grey Dunne, Nathan Josephs, Jackson O’Neill, Mason Snider, Gordon Shi, and Song Xie and captain Jakub Dardzinski now hold the Intercollegiate Poker Association champion title. BU and Brown took home $5,000 and $2,500 USD, respectively.

BU had an incredible run in their first university competition. The team lost only a single match during the regular season where a team’s average loss is two and a half games. BU went undefeated against Cornell, Michigan, MIT, and Yale and finished the season with a 4 – 1 regular season record.

Boston 8 – 7 Cornell

Boston 10 – 5 Michigan

Boston 8 – 7 MIT

Boston 11 – 4 Yale

Brown 9 – 6 Boston

The team will return in the 2020 – 2021 IPA league with the exception of Gordon Shi who has graduated.
